A case has been registered against controversial religious leader Acharya Shriniwas. A case of offence against public peace has been registered against Shriniwas, who was arrested by Nepal Police on Tuesday.
Dhanusha Police spokesperson DSP Ranjan Awa informed that a case was registered against him at the District Administration Office, Dhanusha, on Wednesday.
The police arrested him from Chakraghatti in Sunsari on Tuesday after the video of his controversial statement went viral on social media.
According to the police, action is being taken against him for trying to stir violence in the community.
According to Awa, Acharya Shriniwas has admitted giving the statement on social media in anger.
“He said he is a sage and he gave the statement in a fit of rage and that he made a mistake,” said Awa.
