Royal Enfield is a brand that has been loved by many since its inception. The classic retro and café racer bikes it offers, serve as a testament to enduring elegance and unparalleled craftsmanship. In addition to its retro and café racer models, Royal Enfield also manufactures adventure bikes like the Royal Enfield Himalayan, enabling riders to immerse themselves in the untouched and untamed wilderness. With the same DNA as the Himalayan, Royal Enfield has brought the Royal Enfield Scram 411 to Nepal.
The Scram 411 is a mixture of two bike categories, adventure and scrambler, giving birth to a new sub-category called ADV-crossover. It has the ability to take on the rough mountainous terrain and also give a smooth performance on urban roads.
The Scram 411 was launched along with the new Royal Enfield Class 350 Reborn (BS6). The price of both bikes is very competitive as the government deducted the excise duty on bikes ranging from 200cc to 400cc. Another reason for the bikes’ reduced price is Royal Enfield’s new assembly plant established in partnership with Triveni Group in Birgunj. The assembly plant is Royal Enfiled’s fifth CKD (Complete Knockdown) assembly unit in the world.
Let’s see what it offers.

Design
The Royal Enfield Scram 411 looks very much similar to the Himalayan with some changes like a windscreen atop the headlight and tubular metal surrounds around the fuel tank, while the Scram 411 lacks these features. Additionally, the Scram 411 has a stepped, single-piece seat and a reprofiled tail section without a luggage rack, which is present on the Himalayan.
On the front, it has a halogen headlight with halogen side indicators. The light from the headlight is good enough and continues the retro styling. The back has a rectangular box-shaped tail light with the same indicators used in front.
The Scram 411 has a metal engine plate to keep the engine safe during extreme off-roading. There is also an air filter just at the side of the engine for filtration. On either side of the bike, there is a cover that has written Royal Enfield on it. The tank has a muscular vibe with either 411 or RO written on either side, which differs according to the colour.
The back also has a small rail for riders to keep luggage or other things for long rides. The instrument cluster on the other hand is circular. It has a digital-analogue display where it shows fuel, gear, time and distance travelled in the digital part and speed in the analogue part.
The seat is also comfortable with a bit of dip in the rider’s part and a rise for the passenger. Its overall look and design have got the attention of many Royal Enfield lovers.
Performance
The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled motorcycle featuring SOHC (Single Overhead Camshaft) and fuel injection technology. With a displacement of 411 cc and a compression ratio of 9.5:1, it offers a balance of power and efficiency. The specific bore and stroke dimensions are not provided.
In terms of performance, the Scram 411 has a maximum power output of 17.88 kW at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 32 Nm at 4250±250 rpm. This provides ample power and torque for various riding conditions.
The bike is equipped with an electric start system for easy ignition, and it utilises a paper-element air filter for effective filtration. The engine is lubricated through a wet sump system, and the recommended engine oil grade is semi-synthetic SAE 15W 50 API SL, meeting JASO MA 2 standards.
For ignition, the Scram 411 employs a digital electronic ignition system. The clutch is of the wet multi-plate type, providing smooth and reliable operation. The gearbox is a 5-speed constant mesh, allowing for seamless gear shifting.
Fuel supply is managed through electronic fuel injection, ensuring precise and efficient fuel delivery to the engine. The Scram 411 combines these specifications to offer a capable and reliable motorcycle for riders seeking adventure and exploration.
Tyres, brakes and suspension
The Royal Enfield Scram 411 comes equipped with front and rear tires with sizes of 100/90-19″ and 120/90-17″, respectively. The suspension system includes telescopic front forks with a diameter of 41 mm, offering 190 mm of travel. This helps in absorbing bumps and providing a comfortable ride. At the rear, it features a mono-shock suspension with linkage, providing 180 mm of wheel travel for enhanced stability and control.
In terms of braking, the Scram 411 is equipped with a 300 mm disc and a 2-piston floating calliper at the front, ensuring powerful and reliable braking performance. At the rear, it features a 240 mm disc with a single-piston floating calliper. The braking system is further enhanced by the inclusion of dual-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System).
The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is available in seven different colours; white flame, graphite blue, graphite red, graphite yellow, blazing black, skyline blue and silver spirit.
