Kathmandu, June 11

In a final attempt to convince the agitating Rastriya Janata Party Nepal to participate in the second phase of local level elections on June 28, ruling parties have called the party for talks at Office of the Prime Minister in Singhadarbar on Sunday.

PM and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has led the government side whereas members of the RJPN’s six-member presidium are also present.

During a meeting held between them yesterday, the RJPN had called the government to put off the polls again. Leaders of the ruling parties, however, had said it was not possible.

The RJPN leaders say today’s talks will be decisive and they will announce protest programmes today itself if they cannot forge any agreement with the ruling parties.
