Nepal has entered the semi-finals of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2024. Nepal defeated Sri Lanka 6-0 in the last group match on Thursday at Dasharath Stadium, to book a place in the last four. As the winner of Group B, Nepal will now play Group A runner-up India in the semi-finals to be held on Sunday.
Sabita Ranamagar gave Nepal the lead by scoring in the 8th minute of the game while Sabitra Bhandari (Samba) made it 2-0 in the 11th minute. Similarly, in the 13th minute of the game, Rekha Paudel scored to make it 3-0 and in the 36th minute to give the hosts a 4-0 lead in the first half.
In the second half, Amisha Karki and Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored in the 47th minute and the 94th minute of the game respectively. Meanwhile, Group A winner Bangladesh will face Group B runner-up Bhutan in the first semi-final also to be held on Sunday.
