A woman in Saptari district of southeastern Nepal has accused a policeman of beating up on her on the charge of practising witchcraft.
The 53-year-old woman from Patthargada, Dakneshwari Municipality-9 of the district accused a police constable of inflicting torture on her. The policeman is said to be her her distant family member.
When he was stationed in the capital, he once came hope and abused, the woman said.
“It’s not one time, he repeated it many times,” the alleged victim said, “He did it last Saturday for the last time. My daughter came to defend me, but he beat up on her also.”
She has accused the District Police Office of refusing to accept her FIR.
Meanwhile, DSP Bhabesh Rimal of the District Police Office says his office is looking into the case.
