Kathmandu, September 26

A 10-year-old boy who had fallen into sewage passing into a flooded stream in Kapan of Kathmandu during rainfall on Tuesday last week has been found dead.

Police say they have found the body of Ujwal BK, who was said to be eight years old in the previous report, has been found in the Bagmati river, at Ghusel, Bagmati rural municipality-1 of Lalitpur, informs Kiran Bajracharya, the chief of the Lalitpur Metropolitan Police Range.

“The family has already recognised the body. It will be brought to the Patan Hospital for postmortem,” says Bajracharya.

The Kapan area gets flooded whenever it rains heavily in northern Kathmandu owing to the construction of roads over small streams and a flawed sewage management system. The child had called into an uncovered hole of an under-construction sewage system last week.
