Nepali Congress General Secretary Shashank Koirala has been hospitalised after he experienced a fever.
Koirala has recently tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Since then, he was in home isolation.
Koirala, however, experienced a rise in his body temperature yesterday evening, so he was rushed to Om Hospital in Chabahil of Kathmandu, informs sources close to him.
The hospital’s managing operator Babu Kaji Karki says his condition is improving but stable.
Senior consultant physician Dr Bishwa Nath Koirala, senior consultant pulmonologist Dr Subodh Sagar Dhakal, and consultant intensivist Dr Pramesh Sundar Shrestha are looking after him.
Leader Koirala had fallen unconscious due to pneumonia around five years ago. He had to remain hospitalised for several days then.
