Kathmandu, September 9
A Shree Airlines plane en route to Surkhet from Kathmandu was diverted back to the capital due to a technical issue shortly after takeoff.
The aircraft’s indicator signalled a problem within minutes of departure, according to Rinji Sherpa, airport spokesperson. Sherpa clarified that it was not an emergency landing but a diversion.
“The aircraft was diverted back to Kathmandu after flying 30 nautical miles, as its wheel steering had locked. Other flights from the airport are operating as usual,” he said.
Shree Airlines manager Anil Manandhar confirmed that the affected passengers were flown to their destination on an alternative flight.
