Simal Gaun in Lamjung to get a community building

Kathmandu, February 8

Lamjung’s Simal Gaun will soon get its first community building.

The foundation stone for the building was laid by Gobinda Gurung, director of Shelter for Hope, Nepal amidst a formal program held at Simal Gaun – 6, Gauda VDC at Lamjung district.

The building is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 1 million.

It is believed that 53 households of 4 different villages including Katheswora, Haun, Ghaderi and Simal Gaun will be directly benefited by the community building.

A plan for the community building was conceived after the community members from the villages, led by Ganesh Gurung, had a talk with Prem Lama, director of Shelter for Hope, Australia.

“I was inspired by the relief work led by TAGnepal Treks and Expeditions Team during the Earthquake in 2015, so I promised to help the villagers during my visit to Nepal,” said Lama.

During the inauguration, Gobinda Gurung urged all the community members to support the construction project wholeheartedly. The project is being supported by Subachan Gurung, technical engineer along with a 13-member construction committee led by Budhaman Gurung.
