The chief minister of the Sudurpaschim province, Trilochan Bhatta, has quarantined himself after his driver was infected with coronavirus on Sunday.
Bhatta’s chief personal secretary Shiva Singh Oli says the person driving a car of the official residence of the chief minister contracted Covid-19 today.
Bhatta had visited the Doti district headquarters, Dipayal, on August 18 to inaugurate a PCR test lab at the District Hospital on the car driven by the infected person. Some family members had also accompanied the CM.
Preparations are underway to collect swab samples of Bhatta, his family members, security personnel guarding him and other contacts, according to Oli.
