Nepali ultra-runner Sunmaya Budha finished third in the Transvulcania Ultramarathon held in Spain.
Sunmaya completed the 72-kilometer ultramarathon on La Palma, a volcanic island located in Spain’s Canary Islands, in 8 hours, 20 minutes, and 31 seconds.
She finished only 18 minutes behind the first runner and 4 minutes behind the second runner.
Ruth Croft finished first in 8 hours, 2 minutes, and 49 seconds. Similarly, Ida Nielsen, who came in second, finished in 8 hours, 16 minutes, and 32 seconds.
The Transvulcania is one of the toughest races in the world.
