New Delhi, February 22
Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has reiterated the India is not Nepal’s ‘big brother’, but it is an elder brother.
Addressing a programme organised by the Indian Council of World Affairs in New Delhi, Swaraj not only wished Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Oli on his birthday, but also told him that as her birthday was eight days earlier, she is her elder sister.
She said, India is Nepal’s elder brother, and I am your elder sister. The elder brother is kind, and caring, the big brother is not.
Madhesh’s demands have been met
Addressing the programme, also attended by Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa, Swaraj said that the amendment to the constitution has resolved issues of the Madhesh. She also said that India welcomes the amendment.
