Kathmandu, November 28
At least five people have been reported injured after a Tara Air plane overshot the runway at Simikot Airport in Humla, authorities say.
According to local police, the plane (9N-ABM) had a tyre burst, as it prepared to take off for a flight to Surkhet. The pilot Basanta Lama and Anup Gurung, the co-pilot are among the injured.
Humla District Administration said the injured are receiving treatment at a local hospital. A total of 13 police personnel were returning to Surkhet in the plane after completing their duty for polls of House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies.
