Kathmandu, June 27
Four major parties have formed a taskforce in a bid to clear obstructions in the Legislature-Parliament. The move came after the Nepali Congress continued to obstruct the House to press for the fulfillment of its four-point charter of demands meant to ease the plight of victims of last year’s quakes.
Among other things, the main opposition has been demanding a lumpsum of Rs 2 lakh to each quake-affected family. Leaders of major parties held talks after NC continued to obstruct the House on Monday as well. The taskforce has Chin Kaji Shrestha, Prakash Sharan Mahat from the NC; Bhim Rawal and Subas Nembang from the CPN-UML; Krishna Bahadur Mahara from the CPN-Maoist Centre and Dilnath Giri from RPP-Nepal.
