Dhangadhi, June 27
Leaders and cadres of other political parties have accused the CPN-UML candidate for the position of mayor in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City of Kailali district of distributing money to voters to secure votes for him.
The parties including Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre have accused UML candidate Durga Joshi of distributing money to locals of Phulbari area of the city last night.
Tension had run high in Phulbari at around midnight after the cadres tried to take Joshi under control.
But, an Armed Police Force troop had rescued him and sent to Dhangadhi. Following that, the opposition cadres had picketed the APF Temporary Base Camp till 2 am in the wee hours today.
The Congress and Maoist cadres have claimed Joshi violated the election code of conduct and demanded an action against him.
