Kathmandu, January 9
The cloud cover over central and eastern part of Nepal will start clearing on Friday, but more bad weather is headed towards Nepal next week, forecasters say.
The westerly disturbance, which comes to Nepal from the Meditteranean, has induced rain in Kathmandu from and other parts of the country from Wednesday, snow in hilly and mountainous areas and cold waves in the Terai. The system will start leaving Nepal on Friday said meteorologist Barun Paudel.
Paudel added that a new westerly disturbance will start entering Nepal on Monday and it is likely to bring in more rain. He said that this is the fifth westerly disturbance recorded this winter. “Normally, we see five-six westerly disturbances during the winter, but this year, we have already seen five,” he said. “It is however not clear how much time the new system will hover over Nepal and how much rain it will bring in.”
