Birgunj, March 2
A man died in a wild elephant attack in the Bara district of southern Nepal on Wednesday.
The incident takes place just a few days after the death of two people in the neighbouring Makawanpur district in similar incidents.
Gapan Darlami (45), a resident of Tangiyabasti, Jitpur Simara sub-metropolitan city-16, died in the wild elephant attack on his way back home from a forest to collect firewood, according to police.
SP Hobindra Bogati, the District Police Office chief, says locals have been alerted against any potential human-wildlife conflict in the near future as it is believed some wild elephants are just around the human settlements.
