Kathmandu, February 14

Transport entrepreneurs have withdrawn a public transport strike in the Kathmandu valley called for Tuesday demanding the traffic police reduce fines for traffic offences.

The entrepreneurs agreed to withdraw the strike following the talks with the Deputy Prime Minister and Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha this morning.

Before this, the strike had hit the people of the capital city hard as very few public buses were seen in operation.

On Monday, the transporters announced the strike for today following a violent protest and demonstration in the Balaju-Machhapokhari area of Kathmandu.
