Kapilvastu, April 21
At least 25 houses and sheds were destroyed when fire engulfed a Dalit settlement in Pipri, Shivaraj municipality-7, on Thursday afternoon. The fire spread from the house of Chinne Musalman at 3.20 pm, engulfing houses in the west.
The site is about 45 kilometres from Kapilvastu district headquarters Taulihawa. No fire engine has reached the site so far. Locals are trying to extinguish the fire on their own with whatever resources they have. There have been no human casualties so far. The victims lamented they could not take out foodstuffs and clothes from their houses.
