The Nepal Health Professional Council has published the results of the 11th licensing examination, revealing an average pass rate of 44.74% across postgraduate, undergraduate, and certificate levels.
According to the council, 45.98% of postgraduate candidates, 65.65% of undergraduate candidates, and only 22.59% of certificate level (PCL) candidates passed the exam. In the postgraduate category, 87 candidates from 18 disciplines, including MD Homeopathy and MSc Optometry, appeared for the exam, with 40 (45.98%) passing.
At the undergraduate level, 1,403 candidates from 13 subjects, including Bachelor in Anesthesia and Bachelor in Optometry, participated, with 921 (65.65%) passing.
The certificate level (PCL) exam saw the highest failure rate, with 1,961 candidates appearing across nine subjects, such as PCL in Dental Hygiene and PCL in Physiotherapy. Of these, 1,518 candidates (75.41%) failed, and only 443 candidates (22.59%) succeeded.
The exams were conducted from Monday to Wednesday at the Advanced Education and Innovative Research Center in Babarmahal, Kathmandu. The council announced that details regarding certificate distribution for successful candidates would be published later.
