Kathmandu, February 11
The Parliament adjourned till 11 am, February 23 after passing a condolence proposal on the demise of former prime minister and Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala.
Thursday’s meeting unanimously approved the condolence proposal that Speaker Onsari Gharti had tabled.
After passing the proposal, lawmakers had observed minutelong silence in memory of Koirala, who passed away at his residence in Maharajgunj at 12.50 am on Monday. His last rites were performed with state honours at Pashupati Aryaghat on Wednesday.
Koirala was elected from Banke and Chitwan constituencies in second Constituent Assembly elections. He later chose to represent Banke.
