Relations between Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Deputy Prime Minister Chitra Bahadur KC have soured with Oli refusing to transfer the Poverty Alleviation Fund’s money to the Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.

For long, KC has been demanding that the PAF, which is under the Prime Minister’s Office, be brought under the MoCPA. KC has been alleging that corruption has been going on unabated at the PAF.

So much so, KC’s Rastriya Janamorcha has issued a press release with regard to disputes with the PAF. In the press release, the party has pointed that the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a corruption case against the PAF, which is under the Prime Minister’s jurisdiction.

The press release quotes executive president of the party, Rashmi Raj Nepali, as saying: (Deputy Prime Minister) KC had made preparations to bring the PAF under the poverty alleviation ministry. But his proposal to this effect has not been accepted. Poverty alleviation efforts would have paid off if PAF’s funds had come under the poverty alleviation ministry.

Rastriya Janamorcha has claimed that corruption is rife at the PAF under the PM. The party has demanded that misuse of funds and corruption at PAF be brought under control.

The CIAA has filed corruption cases against 36 PAF officials. Janamorcha says DPM KC has no involvement in corruption at the PAF, pointing that PM KP Oli is to blame for the same as PAF is under him.
