Kathmandu, May 7
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli claimed on Saturday that his government will hold local elections within Mangsir 2073 (November 16-December 16).
PM Oli said while issuing directives to senior police officers after inspecting the Nepal Police headquarters. He directed police officials to make preparations for the same.
PM Oli said general elections will take place within 21 months from now on (Magh 7, 2074 BS). He said the recent nine-point understanding reached with the UCPN-Maoist will help make the government’s programmes effective. Oli said the government will stick to the understanding while discharging its duties.
The country has gone federal, PM Oli said, directing senior police officials to federalise Nepal Police as well.
