Kathmandu, August 7

Ranjit Rae, ambassador of India to Nepal, called on Nepal’s former prime minister and CPN-UML President, KP Sharma Oli, at the UML party office in Dhumbarahi on Sunday.

Nepal-India relations and latest political developments (in Nepal) figured in the talks between UML President Oli and Rae, Bishnu Rijal, secretary at the UML’s Publicity Department, informed.

Oli has been inferring that India is behind the collapse of his government, barely nine months after his formation.

On several occasions, he has objected to India’s involvement in toppling of governments in Nepal. He has indicated that the ruling coalition comprising the Nepali Congress and the CPN-Maoist Centre is the handiwork of India.

The details of the Oli-Rae meeting, the first of its kind after Oli resigned as Nepal PM, are under wraps.

Right after Oli’s resignation, Wu Chuntai, ambassador of China to Nepal, had met the former at his residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur.
