Kathmandu, September 26
Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh said on Monday that the Nepali Congress will take initiatives for early resolution of the Madhesh crisis by building an understanding with different political parties.
He said this while addressing a programme organised to hand over a water treatment plant to Ratna Rajya School in Kathmandu.
Singh called on political parties to focus on amending the Constitution in such a way that all concerned can feel that it is their charter too.
He said: We still have 16-17 months. If we can forge political understanding, conducting three-tier elections — local, provincial and federal — will be possible.
Political parties should realise that they don’t have much time to do all these things, he said, warning that there will be political uncertainty if the parties do not understand the gravity of the situation.
He said nothing will be impossible if political parties move ahead together.
