Kathmandu, November 4
The Biplav-led CPN-Maoist is submitting a memorandum to the Embassy of India in Kathmandu on Friday afternoon, demanding the withdrawal of the Gurkha regiments from the frontlines in India.
Party leader Maila Lama said they will take out a rally from Shantibatika, Ratnapark, and submit the memorandum at the embassy based in Lainchaur.
The recent killing of Bimal Lama during a battle in Kargil has shown that Gurkha soldiers are unsafe, Lama told Onlinekhabar, adding: Withdrawal of the Gurkha regiments from there is our major demand.
The Maoist party said Nepalis should not get caught in the conflict between India and Pakistan, adding: We are submitting a memorandum to the embassy to draw Indian government’s attention towards this matter.
