Kathmandu, December 28
Share investors staged a demonstration at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited complex on Wednesday morning, in a bid to press authorities for the fulfillment of their six-point demands. Other investors also took part in the protest that started at 10.30 am and continued for about one and a half hours.
“We have urged Nepse to come up with its stance on our demands within next Sunday,” Uttam Aryal, chair of the New Share Investors’ Association, the protest organiser, said.
He said: Based on their response, we will announce other programmes. Aryal informed that they will stage a sit-in on Thursday at Nepal Stock Exchange Board.
The association has demanded issuance of broker licence to commercial banks, expansion of broker companies, arrangements for online trading and creation of a conducive environment for entry of Non-Resident Nepalis into the share market, among others.
