Kathmandu, May 25
The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has obstructed the second meeting of Parliament on Thursday, protesting the government’s decision to increase the number of local levels in Terai region.
The party had decided not to obstruct the first meeting today as President Bidya Devi Bhandari was scheduled to present the government’s annual policies and programmes.
But, the opposition lawmakers stoop up from their seats in protest as soon as the second meeting began after half an hour.
Then, the Speaker announced that the meeting was postponed till Friday.
The meeting was called to endorse a vote of thanks to the President for the address.
