Chitwan, September 26
CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal says his party is ready to partner with the CPN-Maoist Centre in upcoming elections of House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly.
Speaking with journalists at the Bharatpur Airport in Chitwan district today, the former prime minister said the UML would not hesitate if the Maoists would be ready.
Nepal stressed that leftist parties should form an alliance as forming a single-party government would be almost impossible after the polls.
Meanwhile, Nepal blamed internal weaknesses in the party and the government for his party’s humiliating performance in the third phase of local level elections in Province 2.
Nepal said he was yet to decide about which district he would contest the polls form. The former Prime Minister had won the 2013 Constituent Assembly elections from two constituencies of Kathmandu and Rautahat districts.
He said he would make make the appropriate decision soon after consulting his party cadres and voters in both the districts.
