Kathmandu, October 15
The Deputy Speaker of recently dissolved Parliament, Ganga Prasad Yadav, on Sunday morning joined the CPN-UML. He was a leader of the ruling Rastriya Prajatantra Party led by Kamal Thapa.
UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli welcomed Yadav to the party amidst a function organised at his residence in Balkot of Bhaktapur today.
Yadav, a native of Saptari district, was elected a lawmaker under the proportional representation category representing then RPP-Nepal.
He was one of the founding leaders of pro-monarchy party. He was into politics since the Panchayat era.
Meanwhile, central member of Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led CPN Maoist also, Dan Bahadur Basnet, also defected to the UML today itself.
