UML student wing: Nabina Lama quits, new leadership next week

The student wing of CPN-UML, All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), has called its central committee meeting to choose a new leadership next week.

It has been learnt that the organisation’s Chairperson Nabina Lama wanted to resign after being elected a member in the House of Representatives. The election is being held for the same.

According to the student union’s leaders, the new leadership would be chosen on the basis of majority. “If not, then we will go for elections,” they informed.

According to sources, Lama would tender her resignation at the meeting of the central committee.

A meeting held on Tuesday evening decided to hold another central committee meeting on May 18 and 19, which will be addressed by Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, informed General Secretary Ain Mahar.

Similarly, a people’s mobilisation committee has been formed under the coordination of Mahar for the management of the meeting.

Treasurer Jhapindra Khatri and Secretary Aarsi Lamichhae have been given the responsibility of finance committee and food committee, respectively. Likewise, another Secretary Samik Badal has been given the responsibility of lodging and stage management.

Meanwhile, Mahar, and vice presidents Rashmi Acharya, Mahesh Bartaula, Sunita BAral, and Shailesh Lama are the probable candidate for the post.
