Kathmandu, July 15
The under construction factory of Huaxin Cement Narayani Pvt Ltd in Benighat Rorang of Dhading district has been damaged by a flood on Sunday.
Incessant rainfall left the factory construction site flooded and trapped five workers there, according to police.
SP Raj Kumar Baidawar of the District Police Office informs that the workers have already been rescued by now.
He says the floodwater had entered the construction site from Sunday morning till the evening.
The Investment Board Nepal had approved Rs 15 billion foreign direct investment in the project last year. While the FDI would make up 85 per cent of the total investment, Nepal’s Suraj Vaidya has put in rest 15 per cent.
Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara had laid foundation stone for the plant in February-March. The construction works were expected to be over in one year.
Meanwhile, the District Police Office says it is yet to calculate the exact amount of losses in the flood.
