Thame village of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-5 was severely affected by a flood following a sudden surge in the tributary river of Bhotekoshi on Friday afternoon.
Locals suspect a glacier in the upper region may have burst, leading to the flood.
However, authorities have yet to confirm whether an avalanche or a glacier burst caused the disaster. “It has not been confirmed whether it was an avalanche or glacier burst,” said Chief District Officer Devi Pandey to OnlineKhabar.
