Dhangadhi, February 19
The chief minister of Sudurpaschim province, Trilochan Bhatta, says the federal government’s failure to formulate needful laws on time affected his government’s performance.
Addressing a Provincial Assembly meeting on the occasion of the completion of the first two years of the chief-ministership on Wednesday, Bhata said, “We are in problem because of the delay on the part of the federal government to prepare laws about some common jurisdictions. The provincial police organisation has not been formed. The Public Service Commission bill has been approved, but we have not been able to recruit staff.”
Bhatta accepted that his government could not spend the allocated budget in the first six months of the current fiscal year. He blamed the lack of staff for this failure also.
The chief minister, however, listed various achievements of his government during his address.
