The CPN-UML Sudurpaschim provincial parliamentary party has decided not to withdraw the support extended to the provincial government under the leadership of CPN-Maoist Centre’s Trilochan Bhatta.
The decision comes two days after the party’s central standing committee had decided to withdraw the support extended to the government.
As the UML is heading towards an official split, the standing committee that only includes leaders from the KP Sharma Oli-led faction had decided to withdraw the support in its bid to topple the government. But, the provincial committee rejected the decision.
Apparently, the disgruntled Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction dominates the UML parliamentary party in Sudurpaschim.
A meeting of the parliamentary party held on Wednesday decided not to withdraw the support considering the Covid-19 crisis, says lawmaker Purna Joshi, adding the party will discuss the issue with other parties also.
