Kathmandu, January 18
Police in Kathmandu have arrested three persons on the charge of abducting a person who recently returned to Nepal from a foreign country.
The arrestees are Sanjog Rai (32) and Ramesh Aryal (30), residents of Jarankhu, Tarakeshwar municipality-5 of Kathmandu, and Gokul Ghimire (31), a resident of Makawanpurgadhi rural municipality, Makawanpur, currently working in Kathmandu.
SP Dinesh Raj Mainali, the spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Range, says they held hostage Rameshwar Ram (30), a resident of Siraha, days after he returned to Nepal from Dubai of the United Arab Emirates in September 2021.
“There was a complaint that they also took away the survivor’s bag and mobile phone,” Mainali says, adding it has not been known why they abducted him.
Further investigation is underway after receiving a remand from the Kathmandu District Court, according to police.
