Kathmandu, June 22
The Pokhara metropolitan city announced to establish Kavi Shiromani Lekhnath Paudyal’s birthplace, Arghaun Archale, a village east of Pokhara, as a literary research centre.
Mayor Dhanraj Acharya of Pokhara Metropolitan City, during the presentation of the policy and programme for the fiscal year 2022-23, on Wednesday announced the city aimed to honour Lekhnath Paudyal by doing so.
Similarly, Archarya said that necessary policy will be formulated and implemented to honour figures including Janakavi Keshari Dharmaraj Thapa, folk singers Jhalak Man Gandharva and Ali Miya.
Likewise, he states that the Pokhara metropolitan city will bring a policy and program to prepare records of the artists of the metropolis, to select and honour the talents of the metropolis.
Mayor Acharya also adds that Mahanagar Pragya Pratisthan will be developed as a centre for the language, art, culture and literature of Pokhara.
