After the launch of the mid-range Honor X9a 5G in Nepal, Honor has brought a very affordable yet good smartphone: Honor X5. The phone has a big display and lots of other features to compete in the Nepali market against smartphones like Samsung A04e, Redmi A1 Plus and Vivo Y02.

Design and display
Honor X5 has a funky appeal with a leather-styled back but is made up of plastic. The single-camera setup on the back has a black rounded square shape enclosure with a bit of lift. The flash is also kept inside a ring giving a similar resemblance to the camera. The front display has a waterdrop notch-styled front camera. The bezels are also relatively thin on all sides. It weighs 193 grams and has a thickness of 8.92mm.
The display on Honor X5 is a 6.5-inch TFT LCD display. The resolution on the phone is 1600 X 720 with an aspect ratio of 20:9.
Performance and storage
Honor X5 has a MediaTek Helio G25 chipset with Octa-core CPUs. The chipset on the phone is a great balance between power efficiency and performance. The graphics are handled by IMG GE8320 GPU which is a mid-range GPU. It has Android 12 (Go edition) as its operating system.
The phone has a decent 2GB RAM and 32FB storage. The storage can be increased up to 1TB with the help of an external SD card.
Camera
Honor X5 has a single camera setup on the back which includes an 8MP camera. The phone supports image resolution of up to 3264 X 2448 pixels. It can record 1080P videos and has up to 4X digital zoom.
The front camera includes a 5MP camera for you to click on selfies and videos. The videos from the front camera are 1080P. The phone can support an image resolution of 2592 X 1944 pixels from the front camera.
Battery and others
Honor X5 has a typical li-po 5000mAh battery which is a great value for money in this price range. The sensors on the phone include a gravity sensor, a proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor. The phone supports 4G LTE-FDD/LTE-TDD as a network and has BT5.1 Bluetooth connectivity.
Honor X5 is available in three colours in the international market including ocean blue, sunrise orange and midnight black. However, only two of them–sunrise orange and midnight black–are available in Nepal.
