A person died of a snakebite on Sunday night at Parakhopi of Haldibari rural municipality-2 in Jhapa.
The District Police Office, Jhapa identified the deceased as local Shambhu Rajbanshi, 32.
Officials say an intoxicated Rajbanshi noticed a snake on the doorstep of his house, caught it and wrapped it around his neck.
The snake bit Rajbanshi on his both hands. He breathed his last on the way to Charali-based Snake Bite Treatment Centre in the district.
