Kathmandu, November 28
On Monday, Nepal Police arrested 15 protestors for pelting stones at the police. Supporters of Durga Prasai engaged in stone-throwing during a protest, leading to the arrests.
Among those detained are the controversial religious leader Acharya Shriniwas and Prasai’s personal secretary, Bina Yonzon Thapa. The demonstrations, organised in response to Prasai’s call, have been ongoing in Kathmandu for several days.
The arrested individuals include Bhojraj Timilsina, Nikesh Bastola, Hari Bishunkhe, Deepak Goswami, Devendra Karki, Bhuvan Pariyar, Yadunath Sigdel, Raju Tamang, Uu Bahadur Rizal, Yubin Shrestha, Sujan Khadka, Dipesh Khadka, and Mehrman Basnet.
The police noted that they were apprehended from various locations, including Gaushala.
