Kathmandu, January 5
The Department of Foreign Employment has opted not to issue work permits to Nepali nationals in the conflict-ridden regions of Russia and Ukraine.
Director Kabiraj Uprety stated that the issuance of work permits, both individual and institutional, for Nepali nationals in these countries has been temporarily suspended.
“Work permits have been suspended for Russia and Ukraine until further arrangements to minimize loss to the Nepali nationals going to the war-ravaged countries”, he said.
Nine Nepalis have died so far in the Russia-Ukraine war.
