Veteran singer and litterateur Yogesh Vaidhya has passed away. He was 77. Suffering from diabetes for long, the popular singer passed away at Kathmandu Valley Hospital, Kathmandu at 12:30 am today, a family source confirmed.
Singer Vaidhya, who underwent a kidney transplant in the recent past, was also suffering from a cold. He had some issues of paralysis as well. Vaidhya has sung 600 plus songs in Nepali and Newari languages. Born at Nardevi of Kathmandu, Vaidhya’s Sapana Bhulai Sara, Kati Pyasi Chha Jindagi and many other songs are popular among the audience.
Vaidhya had won the first prize from the National Song Conference, the Chhinnalata Song Prize and several other awards during his musical and literary careers.
A family source said that the final rites will be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
