Kathmandu, March 1
Vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University Prof Dr Keshar Jung Baral has said that it will not be possible to make the graduation level three years this year.
Baral had announced that the Humanities and Management Faculty of Tribhuvan University would change the four-year undergraduate level to three years when he assumed the post of vice-chancellor.
After the announcement of the Vice-Chancellor, it created confusion for the current students whether their course in these faculties will be for three years from this year or next year. Moreover, vice-chancellor Baral clarified that it will not be possible to run a three-year course from this year.
Baral said, “From this year, it will not be possible to make a three-year programme for bachelor’s level students because many things have to be done for that.” He said that after the formation of the team (after the rector and registrar are appointed), the process will be started after discussion.
Baral said that to change the existing four-year undergraduate level to three years, he will discuss with the relevant faculties and students, discuss with the subject committees and decide. He said that even after the decision has been made, it will take time as various processes have to be completed.
