Kathmandu, May 6
The decline in the stock market continued on Monday. The NEPSE index decreased by 15.62 points compared to the previous day and remained at 1958 points. The turnover has also reduced along with the index. The last day’s turnover was Rs 3.79 billion, today it decreased to Rs 2.89 billion. As the price of 62 companies increased, 177 decreased while 6 remained stable.
All groups except Bikas Bank declined. That group increased by 9.33 points. The microfinance group decreased the most by 1.8 per cent (75 points). Banking decreased by 6, finance by 42, hotel and tourism by 8, hydropower by 10, life insurance by 46, manufacturing by 17, microfinance by 75, non-life insurance by 112, others by 27 and business group by 21 points.
Citizens Life Insurance, Nepal Finance, Pokhara Finance, Himalayan Reinsurance and Gorkhaz Finance were ahead in terms of turnover.
