Nepal’s stock market index, NEPSE, rose by 15.83 points on Monday, closing at 2,683 points. However, the trading volume decreased compared to the previous day, with turnover falling from Rs 7.72 billion to Rs 6.34 billion.
Out of the total traded companies, the share prices of 169 increased, 67 decreased, and 9 remained unchanged. The Finance sub-index saw the highest growth, rising by 2.27%.
Other sectoral gains include Banking (0.11%), Development Banks (1.21%), Hotels and Tourism (1.24%), Hydropower (0.44%), Investment (1.05%), Life Insurance (0.23%), Microfinance (0.19%), Non-life Insurance (1.27%), Others (1.68%), and Trading (0.09%). The Manufacturing and Processing sub-index, however, declined by 0.23%.
Among individual stocks, Best Finance and Super Madi Hydropower recorded the highest gains at 9.9% each. Other notable gainers include Corporate Development Bank (9.8%), Swabhiman Laghubitta (9.7%), Saptakoshi Development Bank (9.6%), Bindhyabasini Hydropower (8.5%), NLG Insurance (7.4%), and Three Star Hydropower (7.2%).
In contrast, Ngadi Group Power experienced a 10% decline in its share price, while Janaki Finance dropped by 3.4% and Madhya Bhotekoshi by 2.9%.
Based on transaction volume, Ngadi Group Power, Best Finance, Nepal Finance, NRN Infrastructure, and Hathway Investment Company led the market.
