Afghanistan has advanced to the semifinals of the T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating Bangladesh in the Super-8 stage.
With Afghanistan’s advancement, Australia has been eliminated from the Super-8 stage.
Chasing a target of 116 runs, Bangladesh was bowled out for 105 runs in 17.5 overs, resulting in an 8-run victory for Afghanistan.
For Bangladesh, opener Liton Das scored 50 runs, Towhid Hridoy made 14, and Soumya Sarkar added 10 runs, but other players failed to perform.
In Afghanistan’s triumph, Captain Rashid Khan and Naveen-ul-Haq took four wickets each, while Fazalhaq Farooqi and Gulbadin Naib claimed one wicket each.
