Nepal suffered its third consecutive defeat in the ongoing Triangular T20I Series at Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground, Kathmandu. In a closely contested match against the Netherlands on Sunday, Nepal fell short by 15 runs.
Chasing a target of 141 runs set by the Netherlands, Nepal managed to score 125 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Indu Berma led the scoring for Nepal with 30 runs, while Samjhana Khadka contributed 23 runs. However, their efforts were not enough to steer Nepal to victory.
The Netherlands’ bowling attack proved effective in restricting Nepal’s batting lineup. Iris Zwilling, Caroline de Lange, and Heather Siegers took two wickets each, while Eva Lynch and Isabel van der Woning claimed one wicket each.
Earlier in the match, the Netherlands’ captain Babette de Leede top-scored with 41 runs, followed by Heather Siegers, who added 26 runs to the total. Despite the Netherlands’ solid batting display, Nepal’s Sita Rana Magar delivered an outstanding bowling performance, taking five wickets in her four-over spell while conceding just 12 runs.
