Kathmandu, June 30
On the first trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a notable decline in the share prices of most companies. Out of the total listed companies, the share prices of 190 companies dropped, while 49 companies saw an increase, and 7 remained unchanged.
The overall market index, NEPSE, dropped by 14.83 points, settling at 2037 points. The total transaction volume for the day reached Rs 3.6 billion. Among the sectors, microfinance and hydropower groups saw a decline of more than 1 per cent. The banking sector decreased by 7 points, development banks by 32 points, hotels and tourism by 21 points, hydropower by 27 points, life insurance by 45 points, microfinance by 62 points, non-life insurance by 29 points, others by 15 points, and the trading group by 9 points. Conversely, the production group rose by 2 points and the finance group by 8 points.
Muktinath Krishi Company experienced a significant price increase of 7 per cent, while Mailungkhola Hydropower saw a 5.7 per cent rise, and Nyadi Hydro increased by 4.3 per cent. On the other hand, Manakamana Smart Laghu Bitta’s share price fell by 9.3 per cent, Sadhana Laghu Bitta by 8.7 per cent, Mandakini Hydro by 5.6 per cent, and Mountain Hydro Nepal by 5.2 per cent.
In terms of transaction volume, Nepal Finance, Janaki Finance, United Idi Mardi, Muktinath Krishi Company, and NRN Infrastructure Company were the top performers for the day.
