NEPSE at 2486 points, transactions exceed Rs15 billion

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw transactions exceeding Rs 15 billion on Sunday too after last trading week. On the first trading day of the week, the NEPSE index rose by 61.61 points (2.54 %) to close at 2485.94, with total transaction amounts surpassing Rs 15 billion.

Since closing at 2037.09 points on June 30, the NEPSE index has increased by 448.85 points (22.03%) over the past 15 trading days. This rapid rise in the NEPSE index has also heightened investment risks.

On Sunday, the NEPSE index increased by more than 50 points for the fourth consecutive trading day. Last Tuesday, the NEPSE index rose by 70.18 points, on Wednesday by 54.04 points, and on Thursday by 59.68 points.

The steady rise in the NEPSE index continued on Sunday, marking the highest transactions since Bhadra 2078 BS when the NEPSE index reached around 3200 points.

Last Thursday, the market recorded transactions worth Rs 15.55 billion, and on Sunday, transactions amounted to 15.23 billion rupees.

A total of 177,460 transactions were conducted, trading 41,195,534 units of listed securities, resulting in a substantial transaction amount.

All subgroups in NEPSE saw gains on Sunday. The banking subgroup, which leads the market, increased by 3.86%, significantly contributing to the rise in the market index. The trade subgroup rose by 6.80%, and the hotel and tourism subgroup increased by 4.21%. Among the 242 listed companies traded on Sunday, the share prices of 181 companies increased, 56 companies saw a decline, and 5 remained stable.

United Modi Hydropower and Samata Domestic Microfinance shares each rose by 10%, closing at their positive circuit prices.

Similarly, shares of Himalayan Bank increased by 9.99%, and Ganapati Microfinance by 9.98%, both closing at their positive circuit prices.
