Kathmandu, July 30
A new parliamentary committee is set to be formed 20 months after the general election. The Federal Parliament currently has 16 thematic committees, with 15 of them having been established on April 28, 2023.
The Committee for Monitoring and Evaluating the Implementation of the Directive Principles, Policies, and Responsibilities of the State has not yet been formed. However, Speaker Devraj Ghimire is expected to establish this committee on Tuesday, following a recommendation from the Business Advisory Committee.
The agenda for Tuesday’s session of the House of Representatives includes presenting the names of the members who will serve on this committee. Once the proposal is accepted by the House, the committee will be officially formed.
